Ama Yangri Trek package is a short trekking package designed to reach Ama Yangri Peak by driving upto Ama Yangri base camp. This is not a long hiking or trekking package but best view trekking or hiking package. By walking/ hiking just for 02 to 03 hours only you will witness a wonderful Himalayan range view infront of your eye. You can stay at local home stay and live like a local for a day or you can stay at hotels or resorts too. 

Ama Yangri is a recently being popular for short trekking place in Nepal. It is situated in Sindhupalchok District and falls under the Helambu region. The elevation of Ama Yangri is about 3,771 meters approximately and 12,372 in meters. During this trekking many gorgeous and well known himalayan can be seen like Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Gaurishankhar, Everest range and many more. It offers you the most beautiful and breathtaking view of panoramic Himalayas and other natural and cultural beauty. It also offers you the stunning view of dawn and dusk as well.

During the trekking journey you will get to witness Local Tamang communities and their local lifestyle and cultural values as well.  Ama Yangri is also known as a “home of the goddess” as well. Ama Yangri Base camp is 85km from Kathmandu. You can hire private vehicle from Kathmandu to reach Ama Yangri. The vehicle like Scorpio, Jeep and SUV car can be hired to reach upto base camp.

Ama Yangri Hiking

The hiking distance from Ama Yangri base camp to Ama Yangri peak is 3km. On Normal Pace you can reach peak in 02 to 03 hours walking. You can extend this hiking to Narkunjung Pokhari and Yangda Chiki Dhupu by crossing Thongla pass. Or you can extend the trip by hike or drive to Melamchi Ghyang a beautiful village in Sindhupalchowk.

Day 1

Drive from Kathmandu to Tarkeghyang

Early in the morning, our driver will pick you up from your hotel or from our office. After that, we will drive from Kathmandu to Tarkeghyang, which is the gateway to the Ama Yangri peak. The distance between Kathmandu and Tarkeghyang is around 75 kilometers, which can be reached in a 5- to 7-hour drive. On the way, you will be witnessing the beautiful Himalayan ranges. You will be exploring the hills and mountains together.

On the way, you will see the daily lifestyle of the local people. Also, you will be crossing the beautiful villages that are located in the lap of the hills, like Melamchi, Bahunipati, Talamarang Bazar, Timbu, and Tarkheghyang. After reaching the place, you can check into your homestay, and after that, you can explore the village. You can explore the lush forests, terraced fields, and the traditional Tamang community. You can also do photography, nature walks, and cultural experiences. You can enjoy the local foods in the evening, like the Thukpa, Dhido, Gundruk, Yak, or buffalo meat, and many more.

Day 2

Hike from Tarkeghyang to Ama Yangri peak and Hike back to Tarkeghyang.

Early in the morning, at 5 AM, we will start our hike to Ama Yangri peak. As the first rays in the mountains look beautiful, and it is a once-in-a-lifetime moment, we will be starting the trek before sunrise. On the way, you will be walking through the lush green rhododendron, oak, and pine forests. After walking for an hour inside the lush forests, you will start to see the high-altitude deserts and alpine meadows. You will see the rich biodiversity of the region.

Upon reaching the Ama Yangri peak, you can relax and witness the beautiful mountain sunrise views, which will make your soul forget the trek and immerse yourself in the moment. You will see the beautiful sunrise over the Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Dorje Lakpa, Mt. Everest, Annapurna, and Manaslu ranges in the distance. You will feel the cold breeze touching your face, and you will become relaxed and lost for the moment.

You can click the photographs and soak yourself in this beautiful moment. You can have your breakfast, which you brought from your home, and relax. After enjoying it for some hours, we will hike down to the Tarkeghynag, as there are no homestays on the Ama Yangri peaks.

The hike down will be easy, as it's mostly downhill, so you can reach the homestay easily. After that, we will have lunch and then soak ourselves in the hills. We will explore the Tarkheynag village and visit the monasteries and temples. Learn about people and communities.

Day 3

Drive back to Kathmandu from Tarkeghyang

After having breakfast in the homestay today, you will drive back to Kathmandu. You will drive back to Kathmandu. You can pack your bags and then board the private vehicle. On the way, you can see the same places again, and upon reaching Kathmandu, the vehicle will drop you off at your hotel or home.
