This itinerary is designed for you as this package focuses on the gradual altitude gain, moderate daily distances, and many rest stops so that you don’t feel the difficulty of walking and complete the trails.
Also, this package focuses on the pace of the trekkers, acclimatization, hydration and nutrition, medical considerations, emergency evacuations in case of, and proper trekking gears and equipment so that you can feel safe and hike easily with a safe mindset.
You will walk through the beautiful villages like Namche, Tengboche, Dingboche, Pheriche, and many small and big villages on the way. You will be crossing the longest suspension bridge in the Khumbu region, which is the Tenzing -Hillary suspension bridge.
You will adventure through the beautiful landscapes from the lush green forests of the pine and fir to the barren landscapes and alpine meadows. This journey is for senior citizens because it is designed to offer a safe, comfortable, and rewarding Himalayan adventure for older travellers. It's not normal as the regular Everest base camp trek, 14 days which is made for everyone but it's, very different than this and it includes more acclimatization, rest, and walking.
You will be having the freedom to walk according to your pace, the simple trails will be taken avoiding the steep ascents, descents, warm rooms and proper meals will be provided, western style bathrooms with hot showers will be provided, warm rooms and meals will be provided.
In case you are not able to walk then the donkey or the porter will be provided who will carry you and take you to your destinations. The Safety and support team will be monitoring you so that you don’t face any difficulties.

Everest Base Camp Trek for Seniors Citizens Itinerary
Arrival in Kathmandu
Namaste and welcome to Kathmandu, the city of temples and history. You will land at the Tribhuvan International Airport, where our team member will welcome you and transfer you to the hotel in Thamel. After checking into your hotel you can relax and, in the evening, you can stroll around the vibrant street of Thamel.
Fly to Lukla (2,860m) – Trek to Phakding
Early in the morning, you will be flying to Lukla in the Everest region of Nepal from Kathmandu. The flight time will be 40 to 50 minutes depending on the weather conditions. After arrival, complete your permit process and adventure to Phakding. The gateway to Everest. You will be walking following the Dudh Koshi River walking through the lush green forests and water streams.
Phakding to Namche Bazaar
After having your delicious breakfast in the morning, you will walk to Namche Bazaar. You will be trekking via the rhododendron forests, with beautiful mountain views along the way. Upon arrival in Namche Bazar, you can rest and explore the local market in the evening.
Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar
As a senior person, it’s very important for you to acclimate so that you feel comfortable and your body can adapt to the higher altitude thin air. We will teach you some yoga and do cardio. After that we will walk to the Everest View Hotel and witness the beautiful mountain sunrise over the Everest and its surrounding peaks.
Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
You will trek through the beautiful forests which are filled with the pines, firs, and Rhododendron. The journey will be moderate with some gentle ascents and several rest points. After reaching to the destination, you will visit the Tengboche monastery along with the beautiful Himalayan backdrops. You will talk to the monks about their cultures and traditions, you can ask your life questions, and we will create an opportunity for you to interact with the disciples as well.
Acclimatization in Tengboche
Today will be an acclimatization day for you in this beautiful village, known for its traditional stone houses, lush green forests, and majestic mountain ranges. You can explore the village on a gentle walk, interact with locals to learn about their culture, take photographs of the stunning landscape, or simply relax and enjoy the fresh mountain air.
Tengboche to Dingboche
Your trek starts from Tengboche to your next destination, which is Dingboche. It is a small village that is known for its beautiful views of the Himalayas and the alpine meadows. The village passes via many small villages like the Debuche, Pangboche, and Imja valley. You will also pass via the Pangboche monastery, which is known for its beautiful views of the Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and the Everest southeast ridges.
Acclimatization in Dingboche
Your acclimatization in Dingboche will be crucial as, at this age it’s important for you to get fresh air, and above this altitude the air is thin. You will do a short hike so your body can adapt the high altitude. You will hike to the Nangkartshang Peak (5,083m) which is steep, but don’t worry, you will be walking slowly, and when you reach the top, you will have panoramic views of the Makalu, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and the Imja Valley. If you get any kind of headaches or any symptoms of altitude sickness, please inform to your guide so that he can help you in the beginning.
Dingboche to Chhukung
You will walk slowly today to the Chhukung village at an altitude of 4,730 meters. The walking distance is only 5 km, due to which you will have enough time for yourself to explore, experience, and witness the environment, the cultures, and everything here. Normally Chukung village is used by the Gokyo valley, trekkers but as you stay there, you can talk to the people from around the world about their journey and experience before the Gokyo trek.
Chhukung to Lobuche
Now from day 10th your real journey will start as you will be trekking to the Lobuche at an altitude of 4,910 meters. But as you acclimate and walk slowly, your body can easily adapt the low oxygen at this altitude. You will walk via the Imja Khola with the stunning views of the Lhotse, Island, and Ama Dablam peak. You will walk on the trail leading to the Lobuche, crossing the Khumbu glaciers. Upon reaching, relax and enjoy a warm meal.
Lobuche to Gorak Shep
After having your warm breakfast in the Lobuche against the backdrop of the beautiful mountains. You will head towards the Gorakshep, which is a gradual and descending walk. You will be having a frequent rest break as you will be crossing the Khumbu glaciers. Along the way you can enjoy the beautiful mountain views of the Pumori and Nuptse. As your walk will be light and easy you can comfortably walk on the trail and enjoy your pace. In the evening, you will have a light exercise and meditations along with the health monitoring so that we can ensure you are comfortable with the thin air and walk accordingly.
Gorak Shep to Everest Base Camp Return to Gorak Shep
After a short briefing from your trekking guide, you will start your journey from the Gorakshep to the ultimate destination which is the Everest Base Camp. Yes, you might get excited of reaching your destinations but still we will walk on the pace. You will sip water and have energy bars so that you can walk on the trail properly. You will need to be careful as the stretch from the Gorakshep to EBC is glaciers, stone paths and organized path.
Upon reaching Everest base camp you can celebrate the moment of success with your friends and video call your family and enjoy your moment. Although at such an age you were able to complete one of the most beautiful and difficult treks in Nepal. You can have photographs and relax in the environment.
After enjoying some time in the base camp, you will again walk down to the Gorakshep as there are no accommodations to stay for the trekkers.
Helicopter from Gorak Shep to Kathmandu
Early in the morning, after having your breakfast and enjoying the local Sherpa foods. You will need to say a final bye to the mountains. As the return of the trek is by the helicopter, which will directly take you to Kathmandu. You will have 40 to 50 minutes flight from Gorakshep to Kathmandu depending upon the weather conditions. Upon reaching the city you will be driven back to your hotel where you can rest and enjoy your last day in Kathmandu.
Departure from Kathmandu
As the 14th day is the last day for in the Kathmandu valley. According to your flight schedule we will drive you to the airport prior the 4 hours so that you can complete the airport security check.
