Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu, Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be received by a representative of Adventure Vision Treks who will transfer you to the hotel. We then check-in at the hotel, freshen up, and take some rest. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner organized by Adventure Vision Treks.

Day 2

Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding

Take a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, in peak season if flight are diverted to Manthali then Early in the morning drive to Manthali (4 hours) Take the Manthali to Lukla flight. (April, May, June, and July 2019).

Take a short flight to Lukla from Manthali and trek around 03 to 04 hours to reach Phakding village. Overnight at Phakding.

Day 3

Trek to Namche

Today we continue trekking along the banks of the Dudh Koshi River and cross the river several times through a suspension bridge laden with prayer flags. We cross Chumao and Monjo villages before reaching the entrance point of Sagarmatha National Park. Then after, we cross the suspension bridge and walk across Jorsale village and walk alongside the rivers of Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi. A steep climb through the forested trail leads us to Namche Bazaar. Namche is home to many quality restaurants, hotels, lodges, shops, money exchanges, internet cafes, and bakeries.

Day 4

Acclimatization day at Namche Bazar

Today is set aside for acclimatization day on our trek. Mountain expert suggests staying active throughout the day: we climb high and sleep low. We spend our day in Namche Bazaar to acclimatize and adjust our bodies in a thin atmosphere.


After breakfast, we hike to Syangboche Airstrip which is majestically located on a hill above the town. From here, we get to witness the spectacular view of Namche and the tantalizing Himalayan ranges as well. Further, we hike to Everest View Hotel. It is the highest-located hotel in the world and serves the best view of Everest and other peaks right in front of the table. We trek back to Namche and visit the Everest Photo Gallery and the Sherpa Cultural Museum.

Trek to Thame

After breakfast, we walk to the ancient village called Thamo which is an easy walk through the valley. After exploring the village, we continue towards Thame. After lunch and resting for a while, we walk around the village to explore local culture and lifestyle. We also visit the small Hydro Power in the village.

Day 6

Trek to Lungden

After breakfast, we take an easy hike to Marlung through the river of Bhote Koshi where we take a short break. Then the trail rises to Lungden through the husky valley. It is an exciting hike with excellent views of snow-peaked mountains and the valley. Once we get into the village, we hike a bit higher than the place where the lodge is located to get acclimatized.

Day 7

Trek to Gokyo Via Renjo La Pass

After breakfast, we take an uphill climb for an hour and a half and then enjoy an easy hike for a while. In the end, we make a challenging climb to the top of the Renjo La from where you get an awesome view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, and surrounding peaks. The view of Gokyo Lake is breathtaking. From Renjo La Pass, we descend to the Third Lake (Gokyo Lake) and get into the lodge. After a short rest, we make a short climb to the ridge from where you will explore the stunning glaciers.

Day 8

Exploration to Gokyo Ri

The topmost consideration of the Everest high pass trek is adjusting the body at the high altitude to avoid Altitude sickness. We climb to the summit of Gokyo Ri which takes 3 – 4 hours. From the summit of Gokyo Ri, we get the fascinating Himalayan vistas and tranquil Gokyo Lakes. We also hike to the fourth and fifth Gokyo Lakes. The fourth lake is about 3km north of Gokyo. It is surrounded by high cliffs and Himalayan peaks soaring above it.

We continue walking a little further towards 5th Lake. A climb to nearby the hill serves remarkable views of Cho-Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Makalu. It is also known as Scoundrel’s Viewpoint. From the northern part of 5th Lake, we can get the sight of Cho Oyu base camp and Ngazumpa Glacier, the biggest Himalayan glacier in the world. We hike back to Gokyo to spend overnight.

Day 9

Trek to Thangnak

The trail to Thangnak is an easy hike but we start early because you will have to walk through the glacier, the longest glacier in Nepal called Ngozumpa Glacier. On the way, we will hear many sounds of the rock falling into the small glacier lake. You can see many rocks on the way which has ice underneath. During sunny days, the ice melts pretty fast so we should cross this glacier before the sun gets strong. Once you reach Thanak, we better climb up to the small hill to acclimatize.

Trek to Zhongla via Chola pass

Today is the challenging day of the trip. Start your journey after breakfast through the steep climb for a while and then descend at the base of the Chola. Take a steep climb through the rocky trail to the top of the pass. The summit of the pass features a grand view of mountain vistas. There are icy parts for a while and then the trail dips down through the huge rock to get to the Zhongla.

Trek to Lobuche

After breakfast, we make an easy downhill hike for a while and then negotiate a few uphill and downhill sections to reach Lobuche. After refreshment, explore about Everest glacier and overnight at the lodge.

Trek to Gorak Shep and explore Everest base camp

Today we walk towards Gorakshep through the icy and rocky trail. En route, you get the opportunity to witness magnificent Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Pumori, and more. We also get the fascinating sight of the Khumbu glacier on the way. After reaching Gorakshep, you can walk to Everest Base Camp and back to the hotel.

Day 13

Climb Kalapathar and trek to Lobuche

Today you will start your day without breakfast early in the morning. We make a pre-dawn hike up to the Kalapatthar ridge, the greatest viewpoint of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Thamerserku, Mera Peak, and many more. After taking photos, we trek down to Gorakshep for breakfast and continue walking down to Lobuche.

Day 14

Trek to Chukung crossing the Kongma la Pass

After breakfast, you will commence walking through the Khumbu glacier and cling eastward. After crossing the glacier and river, the trail heads towards the pass which is the highest pass in the trip. There are no teahouse and water resources so you have to carry a few bottles of water to drink. After a strenuous climb, the trip descends to the Chukkung Valley where the day ends.

Day 15

Climb the Chukung ri and explore the valley

After breakfast, we ascend to Chhukung Ri which involves some easy scrambling near the summit. From the summit, we get a fantastic view of Ama Dablam and Amphu Labcha Peak. We then descend back to Chhukung to spend overnight.

Trek down to Pangboche

After breakfast, we will embark on a trek to Pangboche, traversing through a dense forest of rhododendron and pine. Trek back to Namche

Today we follow the trail that leads us to Tengboche. During the November – December full moon the colorful Mani Rimdu festival is held here with much singing and dancing. From Tengboche, continue through the lush forest of rhododendrons and pine to Namche Bazaar.

Trek back to Lukla

Enjoy breakfast and get prepared for the challenging descending journey of today. The way from Namche back to Lukla is rather steep and rocky. Trekking alongside the Dudh Koshi River for 7 hours, we will cross suspension bridges, walk through some pine and rhododendron forests, and pass by some monasteries. After reaching Lukla, let’s sit back, relax, and have a toast on completing the whole trek. Stay overnight at a guesthouse in Lukla.

Fly to Kathmandu from Lukla
